Remote work is inherently lonely, which makes it more difficult to network than, say, when you go into an office full of people, communicate with clients, etc. If you're going to have an upward career trajectory, you have to get used to creating and taking advantage of relationships.

Networking is a technical word for what really is a simple concept. Seek out genuine human relationships and you'll create contacts that pay off immediately and for years to come.
